Seasonal campsite staff changes every year, or almost every year. Learning new software in a short time, under pressure, is stressful. A structured onboarding process reduces errors, increases staff confidence, and allows the property to open without a hitch.
Roles and permissions in Ovvo Camping
Each staff member can access only the features they need. This reduces the risk of errors and makes training faster: everyone learns only what they use.
- Administrator: full access, configuration, reports, pricing. Manager only.
- Receptionist: check-in, check-out, reservations, payments. The most common role.
- Maintenance worker: fault reports, pitch status, assigned tasks. Their area only.
- Bar cashier: cashless payments, wristbands, purchases. Limited view.
5-day training plan
- 1Day 1 — Overview: software tour, login and navigation, terminology glossary.
- 2Day 2 — Reservations: create, modify, and cancel a reservation. Managing statuses.
- 3Day 3 — Check-in/check-out: complete procedure with special cases (early check-in, extra guests, children).
- 4Day 4 — Payments and cash register: collecting payments, receipts, handling unpaid balances.
- 5Day 5 — Simulation: role-play with real-world scenarios. The manager plays the guest.
Create a one-page 'cheat sheet' with the 10 most frequent operations and post it at reception. Staff will consult it during the first few weeks, cutting support calls in half.
