Without automatic access control, the campsite pool requires a full-time attendant during the high season. With an RFID system integrated with the management software, the turnstile is all that is needed: only active guests can enter, capacity is monitored in real time, and the lifeguard does not have to worry about who does or does not have access rights.
System components
- Tripod or flap turnstile with integrated RFID reader (minimum IP55 for outdoor use).
- Network controller that checks in real time in the management software whether the wristband/card is associated with an active booking.
- Capacity display: shows in real time how many people are in the pool versus the maximum capacity.
- Alarm buzzer when the maximum capacity is reached.
- Entry log: every access event is logged with a timestamp, pitch, and number of people.
Integration with Ovvo Camping
Ovvo Camping exposes a REST endpoint that the turnstile controller queries at every passage: the system verifies that the RFID tag is associated with an active booking for the current day and that the number of adults included in the booking has not already been exceeded in the pool.
Regulations: the maximum capacity of pools for collective use is defined by D.Lgs. 81/2008 and regional regulations. On average: 1 person for every 3.5 m² of water surface. An access register is mandatory in many regions.
