The Polizia di Stato Alloggiati Web Portal is the system through which all Italian accommodation facilities must report guests' personal details within 24 hours of arrival. For a campsite with 200 pitches during the high season, this means uploading dozens of forms per day. Anyone who does it manually knows how slow and error-prone it is.
Who is required to use Alloggiati Web
Under Art. 109 of the T.U.L.P.S., the following are required to submit reports: hotels, campsites, tourist villages, hostels, agritourism facilities, B&Bs, holiday homes, and any facility that accommodates people, even occasionally. The obligation applies to everyone, both Italian and foreign citizens.
What must be reported and when
- First name, surname, place and date of birth, nationality, document type and number, arrival date, and expected departure date.
- Submission within 24 hours following arrival (some police headquarters require it within 6 hours).
- The facility must retain copies of the forms for at least 3 years.
- In the case of unaccompanied minors staying overnight, additional obligations apply.

Common errors and how to avoid them
- Incorrect country: the Portal uses ISO country codes that do not always match common names. The software must have an updated dictionary.
- Unmapped document type: 'Foreign driver's license' is not a valid document type on the Portal. The software must translate it into the correct type.
- Submission outside the permitted time: some police headquarters have strict time windows. An automatic retry system is important.
- Unaccompanied minors: the Portal has a specific field that must be completed differently.
- Guests who leave before the scheduled date: departure dates must be updated in the Portal.
Penalties for failure to submit or late submission range from € 206 to € 413 for each form not submitted (Art. 17-bis T.U.L.P.S.). In the event of repeat offenses, the police headquarters may suspend the activity.
